This document describes the features and characteristics of the IRK.41 and IRK.56 series ADD-A-pakTM GEN V power modules, including high voltage industrial standard package, thick Al metal die and double stick bonding, thick copper baseplate, UL E78996 approved, 3500VRMS isolating voltage, etc.
The IRK.41 and IRK.56 series are high‑voltage industrial power modules offered in a TO‑240AA package. They are intended for regulated power supplies, lighting, motor‑speed control, UPS and battery‑charger applications. The modules feature a thick aluminum metal die, double‑stick bonding and a copper baseplate for improved thermal spread and easy mounting on heatsinks.
Key specifications include a maximum reverse voltage of 1600 V, average on‑state currents of 45 A (IRK.41) and 60 A (IRK.56), junction‑to‑case thermal resistance of 0.46 K/W (IRK.41) and 0.40 K/W (IRK.56), and an operating temperature range from –40 °C to 125 °C. Detailed electrical, thermal and mechanical data are provided for design and reliability analysis.
| Maximum reverse voltage (VRRM) | 1600 V |
|---|---|
| Maximum average on‑state current (IT(AV)) – IRK.41 | 45 A |
| Operating temperature range (TJ) | -40 °C to 125 °C |
| Package style | TO‑240AA |
The IRK.41 module can handle a maximum average on‑state current of 45 A.
The series is rated for a maximum reverse voltage of 1600 V.
The torque should be rechecked after a period of 3 hours to allow the compound to spread.
