The MAX2056 is a high-performance variable-gain amplifier (VGA) from MAXIM, suitable for GSM, cdma2000®, W-CDMA, iDEN® and other communication systems. It operates in the frequency range of 800MHz~1000MHz and has 15.5dB gain, 4.5dB noise figure and 23.5dBm output 1dB compression point.
The MAX2056 general‑purpose VGA operates from 800 MHz to 1000 MHz and provides 15.5 dB typical gain, 4.5 dB noise figure, and a 23.5 dBm 1 dB compression point. It features on‑chip analog attenuators offering selectable 22 dB or 44 dB gain‑control ranges and maintains a constant 39 dBm OIP3 across the attenuation range.
The device is supplied by a single +5 V source, packaged in a 36‑pin thin QFN (6 mm × 6 mm × 0.8 mm) with an exposed pad for thermal and RF grounding. It is pin‑compatible with the MAX2057 and is intended for GSM, CDMA, W‑CDMA, and iDEN transmitter and PA AGC circuits, as well as broadband and test equipment applications.
