The MAX364/MAX365 are precision, quad, single-pole single-throw (SPST) analog switches. The MAX364 has four normally closed (NC), and the MAX365 has four normally open (NO) switches. Both parts offer low- channel on resistance (less than 85Ω), guaranteed to match within 2Ω between channels and to remain flat over the analog signal range (∆9Ω max). Both parts also offer low leakage (less than 500pA at +25°C and less than 4nA at +85°C) and fast switching (turn-on time less than 250ns and turn-off time less than 170ns). The MAX364/MAX365 are fabricated with Maxim’s new improved 44V silicon-gate process. Design improvements guarantee extremely low charge injection (10pC), low power consumption (35µW), and electrostatic discharge (ESD) greater than 2000V. The 44V maximum breakdown voltage allows rail-to-rail analog signal handling capability. These monolithic switches operate with a single positive supply (+10V to +30V) or with split supplies (±4.5V to ±20V) while retaining CMOS-logic input compatibility and fast switching. CMOS inputs provide reduced input loading.

The MAX1512 is a programmable VCOM-adjustment solution for thin-film transistor (TFT) liquid-crystal displays (LCDs). The MAX1512 simplifies the labor-intensive VCOM-adjustment process and replaces mechanical potentiometers, which significantly reduces labor costs, increases reliability, and enables automation. The MAX1512 attaches to an external resistive voltage-divider and sinks a programmable current to set the VCOM voltage level. An internal 7-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) controls the sink current. The DAC is ratiometric relative to AVDD and is guaranteed to be monotonic over all operating conditions. This VCOM calibrator IC includes an EEPROM to store the desired VCOM voltage level. The EEPROM can be programmed repeatedly, giving TFT LCD manufacturers the flexibility to calibrate the display panel as many times as the manufacturing process requires. The IC features a single-wire interface between the LCD panel and the programming circuit. The single-wire interface delivers both programming power and DAC-adjustment commands to minimize changes to panel connectors and production equipment. The MAX1512 is available in an 8-pin 3mm x 3mm TDFN package. A complete evaluation kit is available to sim- plify evaluation and production development. Applications: LCD Panels, Notebook Computers, Monitors, LCD TVs. Features: ♦ 7-Bit Adjustable Sink-Current Output ♦ Resistor-Adjustable Full-Scale Range ♦ Guaranteed Monotonic Output Over Operating Range ♦ Single-Wire Interface

They include an internal reference, a high-accuracy on-chip oscillator, and a triplexed LCD driver. An internal charge pump generates the negative supply needed to power the integrated input buffer for single supply operation. The ADC is configurable for either a ±2V or ±200mV input range and it outputs its conversion results to an LCD. The MAX1491 is a 3.5-digit (±1,999 count) device, and the MAX1493/MAX1495 are 4.5-digit (±19,999 count) devices. The MAX1491/MAX1493/MAX1495 do not require external-precision integrating or auto-zero capacitors, crystals oscillators, charge pumps or other circuitry required with dual slope ADCs (commonly used in panel meter circuits). These devices also feature on-chip buffers for the differential signal and reference inputs, allowing direct interface with high-impedance signal sources. In addition, the MAX1491/MAX1493/MAX1495 use continuous internal offset calibration, and offer >100dB rejection of 50Hz and 60Hz line noise. The MAX1493/MAX1495 perform enhanced offset calibration at power-up. The MAX1495 also performs enhanced calibration on demand. Other features include data hold and peak hold, and a user programmable low-battery monitor. The MAX1493/MAX1495 come in a 32-pin 7mm x 7mm TQFP package, and the MAX1491 comes in a 16-pin 5mm x 5mm SOIC package.

The MAX1450 sensor signal conditioner is optimized for piezoresistive sensor calibration and temperature compensation. It includes an adjustable current source for sensor excitation and a 3-bit programmable-gain amplifier (PGA). The MAX1450 compensates offset, full-span output (FSO), offset tempco, FSO tempco, and FSO nonlinearity of silicon piezoresistive sensors via external trimmable resistors, potentiometers, or digital-to-analog converters (DACs), achieving a total typical error factor within 1% of the sensor’s inherent repeatability errors. The MAX1450 is capable of compensating sensors that display close error distributions with a single temperature point, making it ideal for low-cost, medium-accuracy applications. Although optimized for use with popular piezoresistive sensors, it may also be used with other resistive sensor types such as strain gauges. Maxim can customize the MAX1450 for unique requirements including improved power specifications. With a dedicated cell library consisting of more than 90 sensor-specific functional blocks, Maxim can quickly provide customized MAX1450 solutions. Contact the factory for additional information.

The MAX1334/MAX1335 are 2-channel, serial-output, 10-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) that feature two true-differential analog inputs and offer outstanding noise immunity and dynamic performance. This document introduces the features and characteristics of M/A-COM's MA4M series MNS microwave chip capacitors, including excellent repeatability, small size, low loss, and high Q. These capacitors are made using low-pressure chemical vapor deposition technology, resulting in dense and uniform nitride layers. They have higher capacitance per unit area compared to similar MOS, MIS, and ceramic capacitors, resulting in smaller chip size. Evaporated gold contacts are used to provide easily bondable metal pads on the capacitor chip. M/A-COM MNS capacitors have shown no measurable capacitance change when subjected to the rated standoff voltage of 150°C. The MA4M series chip capacitors are an excellent choice for hybrid microwave circuits up to Ku-band, offering advantages of low loss, high reliability, small size, and temperature stability. They are suitable for applications requiring DC blocks, coupling capacitors, and more.
