The MAX8588 is a power-management IC optimized for devices using Intel X-Scale™ microprocessors, including smartphones, PDAs, internet appliances, and other portable devices requiring substantial computing and multimedia capability at low power.

The MAX803/MAX809/MAX810 are microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits used to monitor the power supplies in µP and digital systems. They provide excellent circuit reliability and low cost by eliminating external components and adjustments when used with +5V, +3.3V, +3.0V, or +2.5V-powered circuits. These circuits perform a single function: they assert a reset signal whenever the VCC supply voltage declines below a preset threshold, keeping it asserted for at least 140ms after VCC has risen above the reset threshold. Reset thresholds suitable for operation with a variety of supply voltages are available. The MAX803 has an open-drain output stage, while the MAX809/MAX810 have push-pull outputs. The MAX803’s open-drain RESET output requires a pull-up resistor that can be connected to a voltage higher than VCC. The MAX803/MAX809 have an active-low RESET output, while the MAX810 has an active-high RESET output. The reset comparator is designed to ignore fast transients on VCC, and the outputs are guaranteed to be in the correct logic state for VCC down to 1V. Low supply current makes the MAX803/MAX809/MAX810 ideal for use in portable equipment. The MAX803 is available in a 3-pin SC70 package, and the MAX809/MAX810 are available in 3-pin SC70 or SOT23 packages.

The MAX6889/MAX6890/MAX6891 EEPROM-configurable, multivoltage supply sequencers/supervisors monitor several voltage detector inputs and general-purpose logic inputs and feature programmable out- puts for highly configurable power-supply sequencing applications.

The MAX6668/MAX6670 remote-junction thermal switches with an internal power transistor drive a cooling fan rated for supply voltages up to +12V and 250mA.

The MAX6501–MAX6504 are low-cost, fully integrated temperature switches that assert a logic signal when their die temperature crosses a factory-programmed threshold. Operating from a +2.7V to +5.5V supply, these devices feature two on-chip, temperature-dependent voltage references and a comparator. They are available with factory-trimmed temperature trip thresholds from -45°C to +115°C in 10°C increments, and are accurate to ±0.5°C (typ) or ±6°C (max). These devices require no external components and typically consume 30µA sup- ply current. Hysteresis is pin-selectable at +2°C or +10°C. The MAX6501/MAX6503 have an active-low, open-drain output intended to interface with a microprocessor (µP) reset input. The MAX6502/MAX6504 have an active- high, push-pull output intended to directly drive fan- control logic. The MAX6501/MAX6502 are offered with hot-temperature thresholds (+35°C to +115°C), assert- ing when the temperature is above the threshold. The MAX6503/MAX6504 are offered with cold-temperature thresholds (-45°C to +15°C), asserting when the tem- perature is below the threshold. The MAX6501–MAX6504 are offered in eight standard temperature versions; contact the factory for pricing and availability of nonstandard temperature versions. They are available in 5-pin SOT23 and 7-pin TO-220 packages.

The MAX6326/MAX6327/MAX6328/MAX6346/MAX6347/MAX6348 microprocessor (µP) supervisory circuits monitor the power supplies in µP and digital systems. These devices provide excellent circuit reliability and low cost by eliminating external components and adjustments when used with 2.5V, 3V, 3.3V, and 5V powered circuits. These circuits perform a single function: they assert a reset signal whenever the VCC supply voltage declines below a preset threshold, keeping it asserted for at least 100ms after VCC has risen above the reset threshold.

The MAX4172 is a low-cost, precision, high-side current-sense amplifier for portable PCs, telephones, and other systems where battery/DC power-line monitoring is critical. High-side power-line monitoring is especially useful in battery-powered systems, since it does not interfere with the battery charger’s ground path. Wide bandwidth and ground-sensing capability make the MAX4172 suitable for closed-loop battery- charger and general-purpose current-source applications. The 0V and 32V input common-mode range is independent of the supply voltage, which ensures that current-sense feedback remains viable, even when connected to a battery in deep discharge.

The MAX4144/MAX4145/MAX4146 differential line receivers offer unparalleled high-speed, low-distortion performance. Using a three op-amp instrumentation amplifier architecture, these ICs have fully symmetrical differential inputs and a single-ended output. They operate from ±5V power supplies and are capable of driving a 150Ω load to ±3.7V. The MAX4144 has an internally set closed-loop gain of +2V/V. The MAX4145 is optimized for gains from +1V/V to +10V/V, while the MAX4146 is optimized for gains from +10V/V to +100V/V. The MAX4145/MAX4146 require a single external resistor to set the closed-loop gain. These amplifiers use laser-trimmed, matched thin-film resistors to deliver a common-mode rejection (CMR) of up to 90dB at 10MHz. Using current-feedback tech- niques, the MAX4144 achieves a 130MHz bandwidth and a 1000V/µs slew rate. The MAX4145 achieves a bandwidth of 180MHz and a slew rate of 600V/µs while operating with a closed-loop gain of +1V/V, and the MAX4146 features a bandwidth of 70MHz and a slew rate of 800V/µs with a gain of +10V/V. Excellent differ- ential gain/phase and noise specifications make these amplifiers ideal for a wide variety of video and RF signal-processing applications.
