Agilent Technologies High precision restriction fragment sizing with the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer Application Note
This application note describes how the DNA 12000 LabChip® kit can be used with the Agilent Technologies 2100 bioanalyzer to size DNA fragments generated by restriction enzyme digestion. Sizing accuracy was found to be greater than 92 % for all samples analyzed. Compari- son of the chip-based separations to those obtained using agarose gel electrophoresis indicates that the DNA 12000 assay accurately sizes fragments over a wider range than can be usually analyzed on a slab gel.
Agilent Analysis of messenger RNA with the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer
Agilent Quantitative Analysis of PCR Fragments with the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer Application Note
This application note describes in detail how the Agilent Technologies 2100 bioanalyzer can be used to analyze PCR fragments using the DNA 7500 LabChip® kit. Both size and concentration information can be obtained for fragments ranging from 100–7500 base pairs. Sizing and quantitation accuracy were determined and performance was compared to slab gel electrophoretic methods. The advantages of the DNA 7500 assay for determining PCR product purity are also described.
Agilent Monitoring transfection efficiency by green fluorescent protein (GFP) detection with the Agilent 2100 bioanalyzer Application
The Agilent 2100 bioanalyzer and the Cell Fluorescence LabChip® kit can be used to determine the efficiency of transfection of mammalian cells using green fluorescent protein (GFP) as a reporter molecule.
Agilent Analysis of Amino Acids in Seasonings by Automated Pre-Column Derivatization HPLC
This document describes the analysis of amino acids in seasonings using the automated pre-column derivatization method. Compared to post-column derivatization or manual pre-column derivatization methods, this method offers advantages such as simple system configuration, low running costs, and good stability of quantitative data.
Agilent SPE Method for Benzodiazepines in Serum
This application brief describes a solid phase extraction method for the analysis of benzodiazepines in serum using an Agilent AccuBOND SPE ODS (C18) 6 mL/500 mg cartridge.
Agilent SPE Method for Anabolic Steroids
This document describes the solid phase extraction method for anabolic steroids using the AccuBOND II ODS (C18) 6 mL/500 mg cartridge. The sample is processed by adding methanol and water, followed by adsorption, elution, and concentration using vacuum. The residue is dissolved and injected into a gas chromatograph for analysis.
Agilent Comparison of different methods for purification analysis of a green fluorescent Strep-tag fusion protein
This Application Note describes purification of a recombinant GFP fusion protein and purity verification using fluorescent measurement, SDS-PAGE followed by Western blotting, and the Protein 200 assay.
Agilent Aqueous SEC for impurity testing molecular weight characterization of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor
Agilent Purification of a combinatorial library using the Agilent 1100 Series purification system
This Application Note describes the peak-based purification of 15 samples, which model a part of a combinatorial chemistry library, using the Agilent 1100 Series purification system. The samples were purified using a generic method with a gradient from 5 to 95 % organic phase in relatively short time. The re-analysis of the fractions was done on an analytical HPLC system to check the collected fractions for purity of the desired compounds.
Agilent UV-visible spectroscopy as an alternative to liquid chromatography as analysis method for dissolution testing
This application note presents an alternative method for dissolution testing using ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy instead of liquid chromatography.
Agilent Measuring Very Low Volume Samples with a Diode-Array Spectrophotometer
Agilent Analysis of Parabenes in Body Lotion by Capillary Electrochromatography
This application brief describes the application of CEC to the quantitative analysis of parabenes in body lotion. The method needed minimal sample preparation and provided quantitative data.
Agilent Uses of Derivative Spectroscopy
This application note briefly introduces derivative spectroscopy and illustrates its features and applications using computer-generated examples.
Agilent Second derivative spectral identification of tryptophan tyrosine in peptides
Peak 2 was correctly identified to contain only tyrosine, peak 3 contained neither tyrosine nor tryptophan and peaks 4 and 6 contained only tryptophan (figure 1). Second derivative spectra can be used to emphasize small spectral differences in similar molecules. This is especially useful for identifying tryptophan and tyrosine residues in peptides (figure 2).
