The MAX9360/MAX9361 are low-skew, single LVTTL/ TTL/CMOS-to-differential LVECL/ECL translators designed for high-speed signal and clock driver appli- cations.

The MAX9159 is a dual low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) receiver ideal for applications requiring high speed, low power, and low noise.

The MAX9420–MAX9423 are extremely fast, low-skew quad LVECL-to-LVPECL translators designed for high-speed signal and clock driver applications. The devices feature ultra-low propagation delay and channel-to-channel skew. The four channels can be operated synchronously or asynchronously. They have negative and positive supply ranges, as well as various input and output termination options.

The MAX9424–MAX9427 high-speed, low-skew quad PECL-to-ECL translators are designed for high-speed data and clock driver applications. These devices feature an ultra-low 0.24ps(RMS) random jitter and channel-to- channel skew is less than 90ps in asynchronous mode. The four channels can be operated synchronously with an external clock, or in asynchronous mode determined by the state of the SEL input. An enable input provides the ability to force all the outputs to a differential low state. The parts differ from one another by their input and out- put termination options. The input options are an open input or an internal differential 100Ω termination. The output options are an open-emitter output or a series 50Ω termination. See Ordering Information. The MAX9424–MAX9427 operate from a positive voltage supply of +2.375V to +5.5V, and a negative supply volt- age of -2.375V to -5.5V and operate across the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. They are offered in 32-pin 5mm x 5mm TQFP and space-saving 5mm x 5mm QFN packages. Applications include Data and Clock Driver and Buffer, Central Office Backplane Clock Distribution, DSLAM Backplane, Base Station, and ATE. Features include 0.24ps RMS Added Random Jitter, 10ps Channel-to-Channel Skew in Synchronous Mode, Guaranteed 500mV Differential Output at 3GHz Clock Frequency, 420ps Propagation Delay in Asynchronous Mode, and Functionally Compatible with SK4426 (MAX9424), SK4430 (MAX9425), SK4436 (MAX9426), and SK4440 (MAX9427).

The MAX9181 is an LVPECL-to-LVDS level translator that accepts a single LVPECL input and translates it to a single LVDS output. It is ideal for interfacing between LVPECL and LVDS interfaces in systems that require minimum jitter, noise, power, and space. Ultra-low, 23psP-P added deterministic jitter and 0.6psRMS added random jitter ensure reliable commu- nication in high-speed links that are highly sensitive to timing errors, especially those incorporating clock-and- data recovery, PLLs, serializers, or deserializers. The MAX9181’s switching performance guarantees a 400Mbps data rate, but minimizes radiated noise by guaranteeing 0.5ns minimum output transition time. The MAX9181 operates from a single 3.3V supply and consumes only 10mA supply current over a -40°C to +85°C temperature range. It is available in a tiny 6-pin SC70 package (half the size of a SOT23). The MAX9370/MAX9371/MAX9372 LVTTL/TTL-to-Differential LVPECL/PECL Translators are high-performance clock/data level translation devices, which can be used in central office clock distribution, DSLAM/DLC base station and other scenes.

The MAX9171/MAX9172 are single/dual low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) receivers designed for high-speed applications requiring minimum power consumption, space, and noise. Both devices support switching rates exceeding 500Mbps while operating from a single 3.3V supply. The MAX9171 is a single LVDS receiver and the MAX9172 is a dual LVDS receiver. Both devices con- form to the ANSI TIA/EIA-644 LVDS standard and con- vert LVDS to LVTTL/LVCMOS-compatible outputs. A fail-safe feature sets the outputs high when the inputs are undriven and open, terminated, or shorted. The MAX9171/MAX9172 are available in 8-pin SO packages and space-saving thin DFN and SOT23 packages. For lower skew devices, refer to the MAX9111/ MAX9113 data sheet. Applications include multipoint backplane interconnect, laser printers, digital copiers, cellular phone base stations, LCD displays, network switches/routers, and clock distribution.

The MAX9164 is a MAXIM 3.3V single LVDS driver/receiver that features low power, single supply, high drive current, high sensitivity, low crosstalk, support for 200Mbps data transfer rate. The product is used in cell phone base stations, network switches/routers, add/drop multiplexers, backplane interconnect, digital cross-connects, clock distribution, DSLAMs and other fields.

The MAX9179 is a quad low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) line receiver designed for applications requiring high data rates, low power dissipation, and noise immunity. The receiver accepts four LVDS input signals and translates them to 3.3V LVCMOS output lev- els at speeds up to 400Mbps. The receiver features built-in hysteresis, which improves noise immunity and prevents multiple switching on slow transitioning inputs. The device supports a wide 0.038V to 2.362V common- mode input voltage range, allowing for ground potential differences and common-mode noise between the driver and the receiver. A fail-safe circuit sets the output high when the input is open, undriven and shorted, or undriven and terminated. Common enable inputs control the high- impedance outputs. The MAX9179 has a flow-through pinout for easy PC board layout, and is pin compatible with the MAX9121 and the DS90LV048A with the additional features of high ESD tolerance and built-in hysteresis. The MAX9179 operates from a single 3.3V supply, and is specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C. The device is offered in 16-pin TSSOP and thin QFN packages. Applications include Laser Printers, Digital Copiers, Cell-Phone Base Stations, Telecom Switching Equipment, LCD Displays, Network Switches/Routers, Backplane Interconnect, and Clock Distribution.

The MAX9377/MAX9378 are fully differential, high-speed, low-jitter anything-to-LVPECL and anything-to-LVDS translators, respectively, with a selectable divide-by-four function. Low propagation delay and high speed make them ideal for various high-speed network routing and backplane applications at speeds up to 2GHz in nondivide mode. The MAX9377/MAX9378 accept any differential input signal within the supply rails and with minimum amplitude of 100mV. Inputs are fully compatible with the LVDS, LVPECL, HSTL, and CML differential signaling standards. The MAX9377 outputs are LVPECL and have sufficient current to drive 50Ω transmission lines. The MAX9378 outputs are LVDS and conform to the ANSI EIA/TIA-644 LVDS standard. The MAX9377/MAX9378 are available in 8-pin µMAX packages and operate from a single +3.3V supply over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.

The MAX9375 is a high-performance, low-latency LVDS/Anything-to-LVPECL translator from Maxim that supports signal rates up to 2GHz. It is ideal for various high-speed network routing and backplane applications. The MAX9375 is available in an 8-pin µMAX package and operates from a single +3.3V supply over the -40°C to +85°C temperature range.
