About this manual

Nitrosamines are carcinogenic compounds found in various matrices, and gas chromatography combined with selective detection is a primary technique for their analysis. A major supplier of cGMP analytical services sought an alternative to aging Thermal Energy Analyzers (TEAs) to reduce repair expenses and improve reliability.

The company replaced the TEAs with two Agilent 255 Nitrogen Chemiluminescence Detectors (NCDs). Bridging studies demonstrated that the NCDs yielded essentially equivalent results to the TEAs, but with higher resolution, faster runtimes (10 minutes vs. 27 minutes), and more stable baselines.
