This document introduces the performance evaluation of Agilent Ultra Inert Liner, which passed Endrin and DDT breakdown and active semivolatiles tests, proving the inertness of Ultra Inert Liner, suitable for the analysis of active compounds
The document presents a technical evaluation of the Agilent Ultra Inert liner's ability to minimize interactions with active compounds during gas chromatography (GC) analysis. It highlights that active sites on inlet liners can cause analyte degradation or adsorption, leading to poor linearity and sensitivity.
Two specific tests were conducted: an Endrin and DDT breakdown test and a USEPA Method 8270 semivolatile active compounds test. The results indicate that the Ultra Inert deactivated liners provide superior inertness compared to proprietary deactivated liners and Restek Siltek deactivated liners, maintaining stability over multiple injections.
Deactivation minimizes interaction between active analytes and the flow path to prevent degradation or adsorption, which ensures reliable results.
A total of 101 injections were made, including one standard run after an initial cycle of nine solvent injections.
The first injection delivered a 1.2% Endrin breakdown.
