MC14553B/D 3-digit BCD counter
The MC14553B is a 3-digit BCD counter consisting of three negative edge-triggered BCD counters cascaded synchronously. It includes a quad latch at the output of each counter to store any given count, which is then time division multiplexed to provide one BCD number or digit at a time. Digit select outputs provide display control, and all outputs are TTL compatible.

The on-chip oscillator provides the low-frequency scanning clock which drives the multiplexer output selector.
The device consists of three negative edge triggered BCD counters that are cascaded synchronously.
