PCF5001 is a POCSAG paging decoder produced by Philips Semiconductors. It supports two basic modes of operation and can decode POCSAG data streams and generate output signals.
The PCF5001 is a low‑power POCSAG paging decoder and controller that supports 512 and 1200 bits/s data rates. It operates from 1.5 V to 6.0 V and works in an extended temperature range of –40 °C to +85 °C. The device includes on‑chip non‑volatile EEPROM, a voltage converter, and can drive external beepers, vibrators and LEDs.
The datasheet details the pin configuration, functional blocks, timing and programming characteristics, as well as package options (SOP‑28 and LQFP‑32). Ordering information, block diagrams and soldering guidelines are also provided for designers integrating the decoder into paging systems.
