About this manual

The ADM202/ADM203 are high‑speed, low‑power CMOS RS‑232 driver/receiver pairs designed for computers, modems, printers and other peripherals. They use an on‑chip charge‑pump to generate the required ±10 V RS‑232 levels from a single +5 V supply, with the ADM203 integrating the external capacitors internally.

The devices meet EIA‑232‑E and V.28 specifications, provide over‑voltage protection up to +30 V on the receiver inputs, and include internal pull‑up/pull‑down resistors for TTL/CMOS and RS‑232 pins. They are offered in 16‑lead DIP, narrow and wide SOIC packages (ADM202) and a 20‑pin DIP package (ADM203).
