This document describes the features and characteristics of SN54F86 and SN74F86, which are two models of quadruple 2-input exclusive-OR gates. It includes the logical function, application scenarios, and operating temperature range.

The DS8313 smart card and SIM interface IC is a low-cost, analog front-end for a smart card reader designed for smart card applications that do not require the use of the auxiliary card I/O contacts C4 and C8 (AUX1 and AUX2). The DS8313 supports 5V, 3V, and 1.8V smart cards. The absence of a charge pump reduces active power consumption, and the DS8313 also supports an ultra-low-power 10nA stop mode. The DS8313 is designed to interface between a system microcontroller and the smart card interface, providing all power supply, protection, and level shifting required for IC card applications. The DS8314 is similar to the DS8313, but only uses one analog (smart card) power supply. Therefore, the device has reduced ability to provide power to smart cards, but it is still sufficient for many applications, allowing the DS8314 to drop into many TDA8024 sockets without hardware changes. The DS8313L and DS8314L use a negative polarity-presence detect instead of the default positive-polarity detect. Both devices are available in a 28-pin SO package.

The DS8005 dual smart card interface is a low-cost, dual analog front-end for an IC card reader interface that needs to communicate with two smart cards in a mutually exclusive fashion. The analog interface is designed for use in ISO 7816, EMV®, and B-CAS applications. The device is functionally similar to two DS8024s with external multiplexing to select the active interface, but also includes low power and 1.8V card support. Additionally, the device is designed for applications where the C4/C8 (AUX1/AUX2) contacts are not required on either card interface. The device is provided in a 28-pin SO package. The pinout is backwards compatible with the DS8313, allowing applications to use the same footprint and PCB for applications that communicate with either one or two smart cards. The device is designed to be used with microcontrollers that contain an ISO 7816 UART, or have the bandwidth to run this protocol in software by bit-banging IO ports. If the microcontroller does not have the capability of running the ISO 7816 UART, the DS8007 is the more appropriate product selection.

The 73S1215F is a versatile and economical CMOS System-on-Chip device intended for smart card reader applications.

MAX3100 is a serial communication interface chip for small microcontroller systems.

The MAX3140 is a complete universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) and a true fail-safe RS- 485/RS-422 transceiver combined in a single 28-pin QSOP package for space-, cost-, and power-con- strained applications.

The MAX3107 is an advanced universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) with 128 words each of receive and transmit first-in/first-out (FIFO) that can be controlled through I2C or high-speed SPI™. The 2x and 4x rate modes allow a maximum of 24Mbps data rates. A phase-locked loop (PLL), prescaler, and fractional baud-rate generator allow for high-resolution baud-rate programming and minimize the dependency of baud rate on reference clock frequency. Autosleep and shutdown modes help reduce power consumption during periods of inactivity. A low 640µA (typ) supply current and tiny 24-pin TQFN (3.5mm x 3.5mm) package make the MAX3107 ideal for low-power portable devices. Integrated logic-level translation on the controller and transceiver (RX/TX and RTS/CTS) interfaces enable use with a wide selection of RS-232/RS-485 transceivers. Automatic hardware and software flow control with selectable FIFO interrupt triggering offloads low-level activity from the host controller. Automatic half-duplex

The MAX14830 is an advanced quad universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART), each UART having 128 words of receive and transmit first-in/first-out (FIFO) and a high-speed serial peripheral interface (SPIK) or I2C controller interface.

MAX3108 SPI/I2C UART with 128-Word FIFOs in WLP is a low-power, small form factor universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) from Maxim Integrated Products. It features 128 words of receive and transmit FIFOs, and is controlled through a serial I2C or SPI™ controller interface.

The MAX3109 is an advanced dual universal asynchronous receiver-transmitter (UART) with 128 words of receive and transmit first-in/first-out (FIFO) and a high-speed SPI or I2C controller interface. It supports a maximum data rate of 24Mbps and offers flexibility in baud-rate programming and reference clock selection with the phase-locked loop (PLL) and fractional baud-rate generators. The MAX3109 also features independent logic-level translation on the transceiver and controller interfaces, making it easy to interface with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and transceivers powered by differing supply voltages. It supports automatic hardware and software flow control with selectable FIFO interrupt triggering to offload low-level activity from the host controller. The MAX3109 also supports automatic half-duplex transceiver control with programmable setup and hold times, making it suitable for high-speed applications such as PROFIBUS-DP. It is available in a 32-pin TQFN (5mm x 5mm) package and specified for the -40°C to +85°C extended temperature range.

The 74AC11086 is a quadruple 2-input exclusive-OR gate chip produced by Texas Instruments. It uses a 1-µm EPIC process and has a typical current-pull-down capability of 500mA. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.

The MAX7360 is an I2C bus-interfaced key-switch controller from Maxim for managing up to 64 key switches, with an additional eight LED drivers/GPIOs that feature constant-current, PWM intensity control, and rotary switch control options.

The MAX7370 is an 8 x 8 key-switch controller and LED driver/GPIOs with I2C interface and a high level of ESD protection. It provides microprocessors with management of up to 64 key switches, with optional GPIO and PWM-controlled LED drivers. The key-switch drivers interface with metallic or resistive switches with on-resistances up to 5kΩ. The IC features autosleep and autowake modes to minimize power consumption. It also has key controller debouncing and a FIFO buffer for keypress and release events.

The MAX11041 wired remote controller converts up to 30 different pushbuttons into an I2C register. Together with low-cost pushbutton switches and 1% resistors, the MAX11041 is a total solution over a single-wire interface. A wired remote controller easily piggybacks to a standard 3.5mm headphone jack using a fourth contact or one of the audio signals. To conserve battery life, the MAX11041 consumes only 5µA (typ) while reading keypresses in real time without microprocessor (µP) polling. The device sends the debounced keypress along with key duration to the application processor over the I2C interface. An 8-word FIFO buffer records up to four keypress events to allow plenty of time for the application processor to respond to the MAX11041. The MAX11041 includes ±15kV ESD protection devices on the FORCE and SENSE inputs to ensure IEC 61000-4-2 compliance without any external ESD devices. The MAX11041 is available in a 12-pin TQFN package. The device is specified over the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C).

MAX7365 is an I2C-interfaced 8×7 key switch controller with GPIO ports. It provides microprocessors with management of up to 56 key switches. Keys codes generated for each keypress and release enable easier implementation of multiple key entries. Key inputs monitored statically, not dynamically, ensure low-EMI operation. The switches can be metallic or resistive (carbon) with up to 5kΩ of resistance. The device features autosleep and autowake to further minimize the power consumption of the device. The autosleep feature puts the device in a low-power state (1µA typical) after a programmable sleep timeout period. The autowake feature configures the device to return to normal operating mode from sleep upon a keypress. The key controller debounces and maintains a FIFO of key-press and release events (including autorepeat, if enabled). An interrupt (INT) output can be configured to alert key-presses either as they occur or at the maximum rate. Unused key switches can be used as GPI. In addition, there are five additional general-purpose input/output (GPIO) ports. GPOs can be programmed as push-pull or open-drain to high.
