MAX1036-MAX1039 is a low-power 8-bit multichannel analog-to-digital converter with internal track/hold (T/H), voltage reference, clock, and an I2C-compatible 2-wire serial interface. These devices operate from a single supply and require only 350µA at the maximum sampling rate of 188ksps. Auto-Shutdown™ powers down the devices between conver- sions reducing supply current to less than 1µA at low throughput rates. The MAX1036/MAX1037 have four ana- log input channels each, while the MAX1038/MAX1039 have twelve analog input channels. The analog inputs are software configurable for unipolar or bipolar and single- ended or pseudo-differential operation. The full-scale analog input range is determined by the internal reference or by an externally applied reference voltage ranging from 1V to VDD. The MAX1037/ MAX1039 feature a 2.048V internal reference and the MAX1036/MAX1038 feature a 4.096V internal reference. The MAX1036/MAX1037 are available in 8-pin SOT23 packages. The MAX1038/MAX1039 are available in 16- pin QSOP packages. The MAX1036–MAX1039 are guar- anteed over the extended industrial temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). Refer to MAX1136–MAX1139 for 10-bit devices and to the MAX1236–MAX1239 for 12-bit devices.

The LM2576 series of regulators are monolithic integrated circuits that provide all the active functions for a step-down (buck) switching regulator, capable of driving 3A load with excellent line and load regulation. These devices are available in fixed output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, and an adjustable output version. Requiring a minimum number of external components, these regulators are simple to use and include internal frequency compensation and a fixed-frequency oscillator. The LM2576 series offers a high-efficiency replacement for popular three-terminal linear regulators. It substantially reduces the size of the heat sink, and in some cases no heat sink is required. A standard series of inductors optimized for use with the LM2576 are available from several different manufacturers. This feature greatly simplifies the design of switch-mode power supplies. Other features include a guaranteed ±4% tolerance on output voltage within specified input voltages and output load conditions, and ±10% on the oscillator frequency. External shutdown is included, featuring 50 µA (typical) standby current. The output switch includes cycle-by-cycle current limiting, as well as thermal shutdown for full protection under fault conditions.

The NCP1337 combines a true current mode modulator and a demagnetization detector which ensures full Borderline/Critical Conduction Mode in any load/line conditions together with minimum drain voltage switching (Quasi−Resonant operation). The transformer core reset detection is done internally, without using any external signal, due to the Soxyless concept. The frequency is internally limited to 130 kHz, preventing the controller to operate above the 150 kHz CISPR−22 EMI starting limit. By monitoring the feedback pin activity, the controller enters ripple mode as soon as the power demand falls below a predetermined level. As each restart is softened by an internal soft−start, and as the frequency cannot go below 25 kHz, no audible noise can be heard. The NCP1337 also features an efficient protective circuitry which, in presence of an overcurrent condition, disables the output pulses and enters a safe burst mode, trying to restart. Once the default has gone, the device auto−recovers. Also included is a bulk voltage monitoring function (known as brown−out protection), an adjustable overpower compensation, and a VCC OVP. Finally, an internal 4.0 ms soft−start eliminates the traditional startup stress.

The LTC3401 is a high-efficiency, fixed-frequency, step-up DC/DC converter that operates from an input voltage below 1V. The device includes a 0.16Ω N-channel MOSFET switch and a 0.18Ω P-channel synchronous rectifier. Switching frequencies up to 3MHz are programmed with an external timing resistor and the oscillator can be synchronized to an external clock. An external Schottky diode is optional but will slightly improve efficiency. Quiescent current is only 38µA in Burst Mode operation, maximizing battery life in portable applications. Burst Mode operation is user controlled and can be enabled by driving the MODE/SYNC pin high. If the MODE/SYNC pin has either a clock or is driven low, then fixed frequency switching is enabled. Other features include 1µA shutdown, antiringing control, open-drain power good output, thermal shutdown and current limit. The LTC3401 is available in the 10-lead thermally enhanced MSOP package. Higher current applications should use the 2A rated LTC3402 synchronous boost converter. Applications that require VOUT < 2.6V should use the LTC3423. The LMH6732 is a high speed op amp with a unique combination of high performance, low power consumption, and flexibility of application.

The LMX2487E is a low power, high performance delta-sigma fractional-N PLL with an auxiliary integer-N PLL. It is fabricated using National Semiconductor's advanced process. With delta-sigma architecture, fractional spurs at lower offset frequencies are pushed to higher frequencies outside the loop bandwidth. The ability to push close in spur and phase noise energy to higher frequencies is a direct function of the modulator order. Unlike analog compensation, the digital feedback technique used in the LMX2487E is highly resistant to changes in temperature and variations in wafer processing. The LMX2487E delta-sigma modulator is programmable up to fourth order, which allows the designer to select the optimum modulator order to fit the phase noise, spur, and lock time requirements of the system. Serial data for programming the LMX2487E is transferred via a three line high speed (20 MHz) MICROWIRE interface. The LMX2487E offers fine frequency resolution, low spurs, fast programming speed, and a single word write to change the frequency. This makes it ideal for direct digital modulation applications, where the N counter is directly modulated with information. The LMX2487E is available in a 24 lead 4.0 X 4.0 X 0.8 mm LLP package.
