This article introduces the ST7MC microcontroller family, which is the second generation of the 8-bit microcontroller family dedicated to driving 3-phase brushless DC motors. These microcontrollers have advantages such as high efficiency, low noise, and better reliability, and are suitable for both sensor and sensorless methods of permanent magnet brushless DC motor control.

This application note introduces some software techniques for compensating and minimising ST7 ADC errors. The document also provides some general tips on writing ADC software. For a list of related application notes that contain other useful information about ADCs see section 6 on page 39. This document provides some methods of calibrating the ADC. Some ADC errors like Offset and Gain errors can be cancelled using these simple software techniques. Other errors like Differential Linearity Error and Integral Linearity Error are associated with the ADC design and cannot be compensated easily. The example software provided with this application note is explained in brief in section 5 on page 35.

This application note explains the different ways to reset the ST7 Microcontroller, including external reset, internal low voltage detect (LVD) reset, and internal watchdog reset. By selecting different reset sources, the application can be designed more effectively. The document also provides detailed information on the working principle and configuration options of the internal LVD reset.

This document is an application note for the ST72141 chip. It introduces the back EMF detection algorithm of the ST72141 chip. This algorithm uses the on-time of the PWM to detect the back EMF. It solves the problem of the long settling time of the parasitic resonant between the motor inductance and the parasitic capacitance of power devices in the ST72141 sensorless drive system at high speed.

This application note describes how to use the “STR71x_Calculation.xls” file which is intended as a tool to assist in the configuration of the STR71x clocks and baud rates. The STR71x microcontroller contains a variety of peripherals running at different frequencies. Some peripherals have a prescaler to adjust their working frequency, but some others don't and need a specific frequency to run correctly. The file “STR71x_Calculation.xls“ calculates all the working frequencies and shows the re- lated register values for each peripheral. Note: This application note doesn’t substitute the fact that it is mandatory to read the refer- ence manual before the use of this tool.

This is an instruction document about SCH10000 standard recovery high voltage rectifier assembly

This application note explains how to use STR71x series microcontrollers on-chip Flash to emulate EEPROM.

This document provides an overview and running guide for STR7 in-application programming using UART.

Describes how to connect a Host debugger to a target STR71x board, and provides detailed descriptions of the internal characteristics of the STR71x, connection issues, and solutions

This application note describes how to set up the Multi-ICE debug interface target when accessing it for the first time. It assumes that the ICE tool software has been installed. Ensure that the RealView Debugger software is installed first before installing the Multi-ICE software. The document also describes the Multi-ICE interface and ICE server setup.

This application note explains how to use the STR71x Real Time Clock (RTC) peripheral and demonstrates how to set up the RTC peripheral to keep track of time and date and generate alarm interrupts.
