This application note describes how to drive a 4-digit 7-segment display using the STR71x GPIOs

This application note describes how to use the Sigma-Delta Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) in the STR71x microcontroller. It describes the Sigma-Delta ADC calibration and linearization technique and shows how to apply a conversion speed-up technique to reduce the conversion time.

The aim of this application note is to show how to scan the 4x4 matrix keypad multiplexed with a four 7-segment display. The software attached to this application note scans the pressed key and displays it on the multiplexed 7- segment LEDs. This application note describes how the interrupt capability of the STR710 device is used to offer a better key scan.

This document presents a standard communication interface between a STR71x microcontroller and a PC using the RS232 protocol through the STR71x BSPI peripheral.

The aim of this application note is to present a practical example of communication using the BSPI peripheral of the STR71x between a STR71x microcontroller and a M25P10-A SPI Serial Flash memory. It shows an easy way of communicating between the STR71x BSPI interface and the M25P10-A serial flash memory from STMicroelectronics, performing write and read operations.

This paper describes the sensorless control and back electromotive force (BEMF) sampling methods for brushless DC motors, as well as the capability of ST7MC in implementing these topologies. The advantages and drawbacks of these topologies are also discussed.

This application note describes a 3-phase synchronous permanent magnet motor control software library developed for the ST7MC drive with sinusoidal waveform. The ST7MC microcontroller contains a peripheral dedicated to 3-phase brushless motor control, making it suitable for AC induction motors and permanent magnet DC/AC motors (PMDC/PMAC, also called BLDC). The library described here is made of several C modules that contain a set of convenient functions for the generation of the sinusoidal waveform, the synchronization mechanism and closed loop control of PMAC induction motors and is compatible with both COSMIC (www.cosmic-software.com) and METROWERKS (www.metrowerks.com) compilers.

AN1953 Application note introduces how to use the ST7MC microcontroller to implement Power Factor Correction (PFC) inside a motor control application.

This application note describes how to migrate designs from the uPSD3200 series to the uPSD3400 series, including pin definitions, SFRs, and interrupt vectors.

This application note presents a software technique for generating a high resolution sine wave using ST7 PWMART. The frequency and average amplitude of the sine wave can be adjusted, and the implementation uses the ST72321J9 microcontroller. PWMART is used to generate a PWM signal, which is then filtered by a low pass filter (a simple RC circuit) to generate the sine wave.

The ST52x440 is a member of ST52 microcontroller family and can be used to implement Sigma-Delta (Σ∆) converters.

This manual introduces the various parts and working principles of Celestron's 4010, 4020 and 4030 microscope models, as well as safety precautions that need to be taken when using these microscopes.

This document describes a 3-phase induction motor control software library developed for the ST7MC. This 8-bit microcontroller contains a peripheral dedicated to 3- phase brushless motor control, making it suitable for AC induction motors and permanent magnet DC/AC motors (PMDC/PMAC also called BLDC). The library described here is made of several C modules that contain a set of convenient functions for the scalar control of AC induction motors and is compatible with COSMIC and METROWERKS compilers. The software allows users to quickly evaluate both the MCU and the available tools, and to have a motor running in a very short time when used together with the ST7MC starter kit (ST7MC-KIT/BLDC) and the demonstration AC motor (ST7MC-MOT/IND). It also eliminates the need for time consuming development of sine wave generation and speed regulation algorithms by providing ready-to-use functions that let the user concentrate on his application layer. The prerequisite for using this library is the basic knowledge of C programming, AC motor drives and power inverter hardware.
