The MAX2117 is a low-cost, direct-conversion tuner designed for receiving MMDS transmissions in the 470MHz to 1000MHz band. The MAX2117 is designed for use in consumer set-top boxes and is compatible with most DVB-S demodulators. The MAX2117 directly converts the QPSK broadcast signals from the antenna to baseband using a broadband I/Q downconverter. The tuner provides differential I and Q outputs to the demodulator IC. The device includes an LNA and an RF variable-gain amplifier, I and Q downconverting mixers, and baseband lowpass filters with programmable cutoff frequency control and digitally controlled baseband variable-gain amplifiers. Together, the RF and baseband variable-gain amplifiers provide more than 80dB of gain-control range. The IC is compatible with virtually all QPSK demodulators. The MAX2117 includes fully monolithic VCOs, as well as a complete frequency synthesizer. Additionally, an on-chip crystal oscillator is provided along with a buffered output for driving additional tuners and demodulators. Synthesizer programming and device configuration are accomplished with a 2-wire serial interface. The IC features a VCO autoselect (VAS) function that automatically selects the proper VCO. For multituner applications, the device can be configured to have one of two 2-wire interface addresses. A low-power standby mode is available whereupon the signal path is shut down while leaving the reference oscillator, digital interface, and buffer

The MAX2163 is a low-IF tuner IC designed for use in 1-segment ISDB-T applications. It directly converts UHF band signals to a low-IF using a broadband I/Q downconverter. The operating frequency range covers the UHF band from 470MHz to 806MHz. The MAX2163 includes LNAs, RF variable gain amplifiers, I and Q downconverting mixers, a baseband variable gain amplifier, and a low-IF filter. The MAX2163’s variable gain amplifiers provide in excess of 100dB of control range. The MAX2163 also includes fully monolithic VCOs as well as a complete frequency synthesizer including an on-chip crystal oscillator and output buffer. The device operates with a crystal from 32MHz to 36MHz. The MAX2163 features a 2-wire I2C-compatible serial-control interface. A low-power standby mode is available that shuts down the signal path, leaving the control interface and register circuits active. Additionally, an external pin can shut down the entire device. The MAX2163 is specified for operation in the extended -40°C to +85°C temperature range and is available in a 5mm x 5mm x 0.8mm, 28-pin thin QFN, lead-free plastic package with exposed paddle (EP).

The MAX3543 is a broadband single-conversion television tuner from Maxim Integrated. It supports analog (PAL, SECAM) and digital (DVB-T, GB20600) television standards and covers the frequency range from 47MHz to 862MHz. It outputs an IF signal at 36MHz. The MAX3543 includes a variable-gain low-noise input amplifier, an RF tracking filter, an image rejection mixer, a peak detector, an optional internal RF gain-control loop (RFAGC), a VCO with fractional-N PLL, an IF bandpass filter, an IF variable-gain amplifier, separate analog and digital IF outputs, and a crystal oscillator.

MAX3544 is a single-conversion television tuner produced by Maxim. It supports DVB-T, DVB-C, GB20600 standards, and receives frequencies from 47MHz to 862MHz. The output frequency is 36MHz IF.

The MAX1473 is a fully integrated low-power CMOS super-heterodyne receiver that is ideal for receiving amplitude-shift-keyed (ASK) data in the 300MHz to 450MHz frequency range. It has a signal range from -114dBm to 0dBm. With few external components and a low-current power-down mode, it is suitable for cost- and power-sensitive applications in the automotive and consumer markets. The chip consists of a low-noise amplifier (LNA), a fully differential image-rejection mixer, an on-chip phase-locked loop (PLL) with integrated voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO), a 10.7MHz IF limiting amplifier stage with received-signal-strength indicator (RSSI), and analog baseband data-recovery circuitry. The MAX1473 also has a discrete one-step automatic gain control (AGC) that drops the LNA gain by 35dB when the RF input signal is greater than -57dBm. The MAX1473 is available in 28-pin TSSOP and 32-pin thin QFN packages. Both versions are specified for the extended (-40°C to +85°C) temperature range. Applications include automotive remote keyless entry, security systems, garage door openers, home automation, remote controls, local telemetry, and wireless sensor systems.

The MAX7042 is a fully integrated, low-power, CMOS superheterodyne RF receiver from Texas Instruments. It is designed to receive frequency-shift-keyed (FSK) data at rates up to 66kbps nonreturn-to-zero (NRZ) (33kbps Manchester). The MAX7042 requires only a few external components to realize a complete wireless RF receiver at 308, 315, 418, and 433.92MHz. The MAX7042 includes all the active components required in a superheterodyne receiver including a low-noise amplifier (LNA), an image-rejection (IR) mixer, a fully integrated phase-locked loop (PLL), local oscillator (LO), 10.7MHz IF limiting amplifier with received-signal-strength indicator (RSSI), low-noise FM demodulator, and a 3V regulator. The MAX1471 is a low power, CMOS, superheterodyne, RF dual-channel receiver designed to receive both amplitude-shift-keyed (ASK) and frequency-shift-keyed (FSK) data without reconfiguring the device or introducing any time delay normally associated with changing modulation schemes. The MAX1471 requires few external components to realize a complete wireless RF digital data receiver for the 300MHz to 450MHz ISM bands. The MAX1471 includes all the active components required in a superheterodyne receiver including: a low-noise amplifier (LNA), an image-reject (IR) mixer, a fully integrated phase-locked loop (PLL), local oscillator (LO), 10.7MHz IF limiting amplifier with received-signal-strength indicator (RSSI), low-noise FM demodulator, and a 3V voltage regulator. The MAX7036 is a low-cost receiver designed for receiving amplitude-shift-keyed (ASK) and on-off-keyed (OOK) data in the 300MHz to 450MHz frequency range. The receiver has an RF input signal range of -109dBm to 0dBm. The MAX7036 requires few external components and has a power-down pin to put it in a low-current sleep mode, making it ideal for cost- and power-sensitive applications. The low-noise amplifier (LNA), phase-locked loop (PLL), mixer, IF filter, received-signal-strength indicator (RSSI), and baseband sections are all on-chip. The MAX7036 uses a very-low intermediate frequency (VLIF) architecture. The MAX7036 integrates the IF filter on-chip and therefore eliminates an external ceramic filter, reducing the bill-of-materials cost. The MAX2852 is a single-chip RF receiver IC designed for 5GHz wireless HDMI applications. The IC includes all circuitry required to implement the complete receiver function and crystal oscillator, providing a fully integrated transmit path, VCO, frequency synthesis, and baseband/ control interface. It includes a fast-settling, sigma-delta RF fractional synthesizer with 76Hz frequency programming step size. The IC also integrates on-chip I/Q amplitude and phase-error calibration circuits. The receiver includes both an in-channel RSSI and an RF RSSI. The receiver chip is housed in a small, 68-pin thin QFN leadless plastic package with exposed pad.

The MAX2335 is a 450MHz RF front-end receiver IC designed for CDMA and OFDM applications. It includes a low-noise amplifier (LNA) with adjustable IIP3 to minimize desensitization due to cross-modulation in the presence of a large interfering signal. The mixer features differential IF outputs and is designed for high linearity and low noise, which is well suited for CDMA and OFDM applications. An on-chip frequency divider is included to allow the use of a standard 1GHz VCO. Alternatively, the divider can be bypassed for use with a lower-frequency VCO. The MAX7032 is a crystal-based, fractional-N transceiver that is designed to transmit and receive ASK/OOK or FSK data in the 300MHz to 450MHz frequency range with data rates up to 33kbps (Manchester encoded) or 66kbps (NRZ encoded).

MAX7030 is a radio frequency transceiver manufactured by Texas Instruments. It has a 16-bit fractional N phase-locked loop (PLL), works at 315MHz, 345MHz or 433.92MHz, supports ASK/OOK modulation with bandwidth up to 33kbps (Manchester encoded) or 66kbps (NRZ encoded). This hybrid architecture eliminates the need for separate transmit and receive crystal reference oscillators because the fractional-N PLL is preset to be 10.7MHz above the receive LO. Retaining the fixed-N PLL for the receiver avoids the higher current-drain requirements of a fractional-N PLL and keeps the receiver current drain as low as possible. MAX7030 is available in a small, 5mm x 5mm, 32-pin thin QFN package, and is specified to operate over the automotive -40°C to +125°C temperature range.
