The MAX6161-MAX6168 are precision, low-dropout, micropower voltage references. These three-terminal devices operate with an input voltage range from (VOUT + 200mV) to 12.6V and are available with output voltage options of 1.25V, 1.8V, 2.048V, 2.5V, 3V, 4.096V, 4.5V, and 5V. They feature a proprietary curvature-correction circuit and laser-trimmed thin-film resistors that result in a very low temperature coefficient of 5ppm/°C (max) and an initial accuracy of ±2mV (max). Specifications apply to the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). The MAX6161-MAX6168 typically draw only 100µA of supply current and can source 5mA (4mA for MAX6161) or sink 2mA of load current. Unlike conventional shunt-mode (two-terminal) references that waste supply current and require an external resistor, these devices offer a supply current that is virtually independent of the supply voltage (8µA/V variation) and do not require an external resistor. Additionally, the internally compensated devices do not require an external compensation capacitor. Eliminating the external compensation capacitor saves valuable board area in space-critical applications. A low-dropout voltage and a supply-independent, ultra-low supply current make these devices ideal for battery-operated, high-performance, low-voltage systems. The MAX6161-MAX6168 are available in 8-pin SO packages.

The MAX6001–MAX6005 family is a low-cost series voltage reference in SOT23 package that combines the cost advantage of shunt references with the power-saving advantage of series references. These devices eliminate the need for an external resistor and offer a supply current that is virtually independent of the supply voltage. They are ideal for high-volume, cost-sensitive 3V and 5V battery-operated systems with wide variations in supply voltage that require very low power dissipation. Additionally, these devices are internally compensated and do not require an external compensation capacitor, saving valuable board area in space-critical applications.

MAX6100-MAX6107 is a low-cost, low-dropout (LDO), micropower voltage reference

The MAX6012/MAX6021/MAX6025/MAX6030/MAX6041/MAX6045/MAX6050 precision, low-dropout, micropower voltage references offer 0.2% (max) initial accuracy and a temperature coefficient of less than 15 ppm/°C over the extended temperature range. These series-mode voltage references draw only 27µA of quiescent supply current and can sink or source up to 500µA of load current.

The MAX6061-MAX6068 are precision, low-dropout, micropower voltage references. These three-terminal devices provide 1.25V, 1.8V, 2.048V, 2.5V, 3V, 4.096V, 4.5V, and 5V output voltage options. They feature a proprietary curvature-correction circuit and laser-trimmed thin-film resistors that result in a very low temperature coefficient of 20ppm/°C (max) and an initial accuracy of ±0.2% (max). Specifications apply to the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). The MAX6061-MAX6068 typically draw only 90µA of supply current and can source 5mA or sink 2mA of load current. The MAX6023 is a family of low-dropout, micropower voltage references in a 5-bump, chip-scale package (UCSP™).

MAX6018 is a precision, low-voltage, low-dropout, micropower voltage reference in a SOT23 package.

The MAX6037 family is a low-dropout, micropower voltage reference that offers fixed and adjustable output voltage options ranging from 1.184V to 5V. Connect an external resistive-divider on the MAX6037_ADJ to adjust the output voltage from 1.184V to 5V. The other devices in the MAX6037 family feature fixed output voltages of 1.25V, 2.048V, 2.5V, 3.0V, 3.3V, and 4.096V. The MAX6037 offers shutdown functionality with an active-low shutdown (500nA, max). These series-mode voltage references operate from a 2.5V to 5.5V supply and consume 275µA (max) quiescent current. The output is stable driving loads from 0.02µF to 1µF and can source and sink 5mA of load current. The MAX6037 offers a low temperature coefficient of 25ppm/°C and initial accuracy of ±0.2% (max). The low dropout voltage (100mV, max at 1mA) and supply-independent, low supply current make the MAX6037 ideal for battery-powered applications. The MAX6037 is available in the miniature 5-pin SOT23 package and is specified over the -40°C to +125°C automotive temperature range.

The LM4040 is a precision two-terminal shunt mode, bandgap voltage reference available in fixed reverse breakdown voltages of 2.048V, 2.500V, 3.000V, 3.3V, 4.096V, and 5.000V.

The MAX6138 is a precision, two-terminal shunt mode, bandgap voltage reference available in fixed reverse breakdown voltages of 1.2205V, 2.048V, 2.5V, 3.0V, 3.3V, 4.096V, and 5.0V. Ideal for space-critical applica- tions, the MAX6138 is offered in the subminiature 3-pin SC70 surface-mount package (1.8mm X 1.8mm), 50% smaller than comparable devices in SOT23 surface- mount packages. Laser-trimmed resistors ensure precise initial accuracy. With a 25ppm/°C temperature coefficient, the device is offered in three grades of initial accuracy ranging from 0.1% to 0.5%. The MAX6138 has a 60µA to 15mA shunt- current capability with low-dynamic impedance, ensuring stable reverse breakdown voltage accuracy over a wide range of operating temperatures and currents. The MAX6138 does not require an external stabilizing capacitor while ensuring stability with capacitive loads. The MAX6138 is a higher precision device in a smaller package than the LM4040/LM4050.

MAX6006–MAX6009 are ultra-low-power SOT23 precision shunt voltage references with output voltages of +1.25V, +2.048V, +2.5V and 3V. They feature excellent low power and high precision characteristics, and can be widely used in battery-powered equipment, portable meters, precision regulators and A/D and D/A converters.

The LM4041 is a precision two-terminal shunt mode, bandgap voltage reference with a fixed reverse breakdown voltage of 1.225V. It is ideal for space-critical applications and is offered in a subminiature 3-pin SC70 surface-mount package (1.8mm x 1.8mm), which is 50% smaller than comparable devices in SOT23 surface-mount packages. Laser-trimmed resistors ensure precise initial accuracy. With a 100ppm/°C temperature coefficient, the device is offered in four grades of initial accuracy ranging from 0.1% to 1%. The LM4041 has a 60µA to 12mA shunt current capability with low dynamic impedance, ensuring stable reverse-breakdown voltage accuracy over a wide range of operating temperatures and currents. The LM4041 does not require an external stabilizing capacitor while ensuring stability with any capacitive load. The LM4041 is guaranteed over the temperature range -40°C to +125°C.

The MAX8069 is a 1.2V temperature-compensated voltage reference. It uses the bandgap principle to achieve excellent stability and low noise at reverse currents down to 60µA

The MAX2150 is a wideband direct upconversion quadrature modulator IC from Maxim. It features a 28-bit sigma-delta fractional-N synthesizer with a frequency range of 700MHz to 2300MHz, a resolution of 100mHz, and a power consumption of 72mA.

The MAX1472 is a crystal-referenced phase-locked loop (PLL) VHF/UHF transmitter designed to transmit OOK/ASK data in the 300MHz to 450MHz frequency range. The MAX1472 supports data rates up to 100kbps, and adjustable output power to more than +10dBm into a 50Ω load. The crystal-based architecture of the MAX1472 eliminates many of the common problems with SAW transmitters by providing greater modulation depth, faster frequency settling, higher tolerance of the transmit frequency, and reduced temperature dependence. Combined, these improvements enable better overall receiver performance when using a superheterodyne receiver such as the MAX1470 or MAX1473. The MAX1472 is available in a 3mm x 3mm 8-pin SOT23 package and is specified for the automotive (-40°C to +125°C) temperature range. An evaluation kit is available.
