About this manual

The STPO8DP05 is a monolithic, low voltage, low current power 8-bit shift register designed for LED panel displays. It contains an 8-bit serial-in, parallel-out shift register that feeds an 8-bit D-type storage register. The output stage provides eight regulated current sources to drive LEDs with a constant current of 5-100mA.

The device features short and open output error detection, checking for shorts to GND, shorts to Vop, or open lines. It is backward compatible with the STP8C/L596 and extends functionality with detection circuits. The STPO8DP05 guarantees a 20V output driving capability and operates with a supply voltage down to 3V.
