The Philips PCF2119X is a low-power CMOS integrated circuit designed to drive dot matrix LCD displays. It supports 2-line by 16 or 1-line by 32 character formats with 5x7 or 5x8 dot matrices, including support for Kana and user-defined symbols. The device integrates an on-chip voltage multiplier to generate the necessary LCD supply and bias voltages, minimizing external component requirements.
It supports a 2-line display with up to 16 characters plus 160 icons, or a 1-line display with up to 32 characters plus 160 icons.
The device operates with a logic supply voltage between 1.5 and 5.5 V.
The internal Character Generator ROM contains 240, 5 x 8 characters.
