The Microsemi SML series consists of unidirectional and bidirectional transient absorption zeners designed for surface mount technology. These devices are rated for 3000 watts of peak power during a one millisecond pulse and are intended to protect sensitive circuits against transients induced by lightning and inductive load switching. They feature a response time of 1 x 10^-9 seconds and are available in small outline surface mountable packages such as DO-215AB and DO-214AB.
