LINEAR AN108-1 handbook

This application note introduces the LTC3207/LTC3207-1 LED/Camera driver, which can drive 12 ULEDs and one camera flash LED. The 12 ULEDs can be individually turned on or off, set to general purpose output (GPO) mode, set to blink or fade. The driver also has an external enable (ENU) pin that can be used to blink, fade or turn on/off the LEDs.

About this manual

The LTC3207/LTC3207-1 is a 600mA slave I2C device designed to drive 12 Universal LEDs (ULEDs) and one camera flash LED. It supports various modes including general purpose output, blinking with selectable patterns, and smooth gradation of light intensity.

The document details the use of external enable (ENU) pins for controlling LEDs independently of the microprocessor, which is useful during sleep or standby modes. It provides specific instructions on configuring registers for charge pump switching, setting LED currents, and managing blink/gradation timing via I2C commands.
