The Glenair 189-039 is a Composite Connector Backshell Adapter intended for use with MIL-PRF-28876 Fiber Optic Connectors. It provides straight, 45° elbow (Style T), and 90° elbow (Style W) configurations to accommodate various tubing sizes.
The adapter features a high-grade engineering thermoplastic body with options for dacron overbraid or PEEK/PFA/ETFE/FEP convolutions. Key components include an O-ring made of fluorosilicone or silicone, and an anti-rotation device made from corrosion-resistant material. The spacer ring is packaged loose to be installed against the connector insert prior to coupling.
