Am27C64 is a 64-Kilobit (8 K x 8-Bit) CMOS EPROM with fast access time, low power consumption, single +5 V power supply, high noise immunity, and other features.
The Am27C64 is a 64‑Kbit ultraviolet‑erasable programmable read‑only memory organized as 8 K × 8 bits. It operates from a single +5 V supply, offers fast access times as low as 45 ns, and provides both CMOS and TTL compatible I/O. The device is available in 28‑pin DIP, 28‑pin plastic DIP (PDIP) and 32‑pin PLCC packages.
Programming is performed with AMD’s Flashrite algorithm, using a 100 µs pulse and typically completing in about 1 second. The EPROM can be erased with ultraviolet light (2537 Å) at an intensity of 12 kµW/cm² for 15‑20 minutes. Standby current is as low as 100 µA, and active power consumption is about 80 mW.
| Access time | ≤ 45 ns (fast grade) |
|---|---|
| Active power consumption | 80 mW |
| Supply voltage | +5 V (single supply) |
| Typical programming time | 1 second |
| Package options | 28‑pin DIP, 28‑pin PDIP, 32‑pin PLCC |
| UV erase dosage | 15 W·s/cm² for 15‑20 min |
Programming typically takes about 1 second using the Flashrite algorithm.
Depending on the speed grade, the maximum access time ranges from 45 ns up to 250 ns.
The device is erased by exposing it to ultraviolet light (2537 Å) at an intensity of 12 kµW/cm² for 15‑20 minutes.
