This document describes the features of B170 2mm pitch connector directly mounted on board DF4 series I. It includes cost-saving for header, miniature and multiple contacts, and board pre-fixed mechanism. The connector is suitable for note PC and small business equipment.
The DF4 series from Hirose offers 2 mm pitch board‑mounted connectors with a range of contact counts from 2 to 32. Designed for cost‑saving and miniature applications, the connectors feature a crimping or insulation‑displacement contact style and a light‑crimping pre‑fixed mechanism for easy board installation.
Key specifications include a 3 A current rating for AWG 24 crimping contacts, 250 V AC voltage rating, insulation resistance of 1 GΩ at 500 V DC, and operating temperature range of –30 °C to +85 °C. The handbook also lists recommended soldering conditions, humidity and vibration tolerances, and provides part numbers, packaging options, and compatible crimping tools.
| Current rating (Crimping, AWG 24) | 3 A |
|---|---|
| Voltage rating (Crimping) | 250 V AC |
| Insulation resistance | 1 GΩ min at 500 V DC |
| Withstanding voltage | 650 V AC for 1 min |
| Contact resistance (max) | 30 mΩ |
| Operating temperature range | -30 °C to +85 °C |
| Storage temperature range | -10 °C to +60 °C |
| Operating moisture range | 40 % to 80 % |
| Insulation displacement voltage rating | 100 V AC |
The DF4 series crimping contacts are rated for 3 A when using AWG 24 wire.
They are rated for 250 V AC.
Manual soldering should be performed at 300 °C for 3 seconds, with a recommended flow temperature of 250 °C for 3 seconds.
Store the connectors between –10 °C and +60 °C.
