The PEB 2046 is a time/space switch from Siemens Aktiengesellschaft that can connect any of the 256 PCM channels of eight incoming PCM lines to any of the 256 PCM channels of eight output lines. The switch is made using advanced low power CMOS technology and has a small single-chip area and low power consumption.
The MTSS PEB 2046 is a monolithic CMOS device that can connect any of the 256 PCM channels of eight incoming PCM lines to any of the 256 PCM channels of eight output lines. Input data is stored in a speech memory and read out via a connection memory controlled by timing counters.
Key features include a 2.048‑kbit/s PCM system rate, support for up to 256 incoming and 256 outgoing PCM channels, eight input and eight output PCM lines, configurable 4096‑ or 8192‑kHz device clock, tristate function, an 8‑bit uP‑interface, single +5‑V power supply, and low‑power CMOS technology. The device is offered in P‑LCC‑44‑1 (SMD) and P‑DIP‑40‑1 packages.
