This document is the user manual for Philips Semiconductors' P87C51Mx2 series of integrated circuits. This series of products is an 80C51 8-bit microcontroller with extended memory. The document describes the features and characteristics of the product, including logic symbol, block diagram, memory organization, instruction set, external bus, interrupt processing, ports, power control, and peripherals.
The Philips P87C51MB2 and P87C51MC2 are 80C51‑compatible 8‑bit microcontrollers featuring the 51MX core with extended address capability. They provide up to 8 MB of program and data memory, 23‑bit program and data pointers, and retain full compatibility with classic 80051 tools and peripherals.
The devices include 64 KB or 96 KB of on‑chip OTP program memory, 2 KB or 3 KB of on‑chip RAM, two full‑duplex enhanced UARTs, a programmable counter array, watchdog timer, three timers, and up to 32 I/O lines. They operate at up to 24 MHz CPU clock with six clock cycles per machine cycle and support multiple power‑saving modes.
