3M™ Hyper Soft Thermally Conductive Interface Pads 5516 / 5516S are silicone elastomer pads with good thermal conductivity and electrical insulation properties, designed to facilitate heat transfer between heat generating components and heat sinks, heat spreaders or other cooling devices.
The 3M Hyper Soft Thermally Conductive Interface Pads 5516 and 5516S provide a highly conformable, slightly tacky silicone elastomer sheet filled with thermally conductive ceramic particles. They are designed to create a preferential heat‑transfer path between heat‑generating components and heat sinks or other cooling devices while offering good electrical insulation and low stress on board components.
The pads are available in standard thicknesses of 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm. The 5516S version includes a thin PEN film carrier for easier handling and a non‑tacky surface for rework. The document lists typical physical properties, aging data, and compliance with UL 94 V‑0 flammability, RoHS, and TSCA regulations.
