This document describes the features and characteristics of the TLE 4276 low-drop voltage regulator, including output voltage tolerance, low-drop voltage, inhibit input, very low current consumption, short-circuit-proof, and reverse polarity proof. Suitable for use in automotive electronics.
The TLE 4276 is a low‑drop voltage regulator offered in TO‑220 and TO‑252 packages. It can regulate an input voltage up to 40 V to fixed outputs of 5.0 V (V50), 8.5 V (V85), 10 V (V10) or an adjustable voltage, and provides up to 400 mA of output current. The device includes an inhibit input that reduces current consumption to below 10 pA, and it is protected against short‑circuit, overload, over‑temperature and reverse‑polarity conditions.
Key specifications include a required output capacitor of at least 22 µF with ESR < 3 Ω for stability, a junction temperature range of –40 °C to 150 °C, and various package options such as P‑TO220‑5‑3 and P‑TO252‑5‑1. The datasheet also provides pin definitions, block diagrams, and mechanical dimensions for design integration.
| Fixed output voltages | 5.0 V (V50), 8.5 V (V85), 10 V (V10) |
|---|---|
| Maximum output current | 400 mA |
| Inhibit input standby current | < 10 pA |
| Input voltage range | up to 40 V |
| Output capacitor stability requirement | Cg > 22 µF, ESR < 3 Ω |
The regulator can deliver up to 400 mA of output current.
When the inhibit input is asserted, the current consumption drops below 10 pA.
Fixed output versions are 5.0 V (V50), 8.5 V (V85) and 10 V (V10); an adjustable version is also offered.
