This document describes the features and functions of Analog Devices ADV7195 multiformat progressive scan/HDTV encoder. The encoder supports multiple input formats including YCrCb and RGB, as well as multiple output formats. It features 11-bit DACs and 10-bit data input. The encoder is suitable for various high-definition standards and includes CGMS and Macrovision functions.
The ADV7195 is a triple high‑speed digital‑to‑analog video encoder on a single monolithic chip. It integrates three 10‑bit video D/A converters with TTL‑compatible inputs and supports YCrCb 4:4:4, RGB 4:4:4, and YCrCb 4:2:2 input formats. The device operates in progressive‑scan mode at 27 MHz or HDTV mode at 74.25 MHz, with an asynchronous timing mode for other high‑definition standards.
The datasheet details electrical specifications, timing parameters, pin assignments, and absolute maximum ratings. It also includes ordering information, package dimensions (52‑lead MQFP), and recommended ESD handling procedures.

The ADV7195 requires a single 3.3 V power supply and can use an optional external 1.235 V reference.
It accepts 10‑bit YCrCb 4:4:4, RGB 4:4:4, and YCrCb 4:2:2 formats, with progressive‑scan at 27 MHz or HDTV at 74.25 MHz, plus an async timing mode for other standards.
The device is supplied in a 52‑lead MQFP (plastic quad flatpack) package.
