About this manual

The Agilent ZORBAX Eclipse Plus C8 column is designed for superior peak shape with basic compounds and delivers high efficiency for all sample types. It utilizes a dense monolayer of dimethyl-n-octylsilane bonded to a specially prepared ultra-high purity ZORBAX Rx-SIL porous silica support. This packing is doubly endcapped to deactivate the silica surface, making it especially useful for separating acidic, basic, and highly polar compounds by reverse-phase liquid chromatography.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Eclipse Plus C8 column especially suited for?

It is especially suited for separating basic compounds that produce poor peak shapes on other columns.

What is the recommended storage solvent for long-term storage?

Long-term storage should be in a pure organic solvent, preferably an aprotic liquid such as 100% acetonitrile.
