This document describes the steps for crimping connectors using a foot pedal crimping tool. After crimping, the electrical strain relief wing of the connector will be crimped onto the wire, and the mechanical strain relief wing will be crimped onto the insulation.
This document provides step-by-step instructions for using the Ideal 30-426 D-Sub/Double-D Service Tool. The tool is designed to crimp electrical strain relief wings onto wires and mechanical strain relief wings onto insulation.
Insert the wire entry end of the connector towards the user with the wing portion facing upwards, then close the tool slightly to hold it in place.
A completed crimp has the electrical strain relief wing crimped onto the wire with the small 'M' step and the mechanical strain relief wing crimped onto the insulation with the larger 'M' step.
