SFH 4000 is a high performance infrared emitting diode produced by Philips. It features high output power, small package, short switching time and high pulse handling capability. It can be used in industrial electronics, measurement, control, sensor, alarm and security equipment.
The SFH 4000 is a high‑speed infrared emitter with a very small 1.7 mm × 0.8 mm × 0.65 mm package. It delivers up to 35 mW output power and features extremely short switching times of 10 ns, making it suitable for miniature photointerrupters, sensor technology, and IR free‑air transmission.
The datasheet lists maximum ratings such as a reverse voltage of 3 V, forward current of 100 mA, and power dissipation of 180 mW. Electrical characteristics include a peak wavelength of 950 nm, spectral bandwidth of 40 nm, and typical radiant intensity of 45 mW/sr. Packaging details, recommended lead‑free IR reflow soldering profiles, and legal notices are also provided. This manual is written in German.
