This document introduces the DAC8043, a high-accuracy 12-bit CMOS multiplying DAC in a space-saving 8-lead PDIP package. Featuring serial data input, double buffering, and excellent analog performance, the DAC8043 is ideal for autocalibration systems, process control and industrial automation, programmable amplifiers and attenuators, and digitally controlled filters.
The DAC8043 is a high‑accuracy 12‑bit CMOS multiplying digital‑to‑analog converter offered in an 8‑lead PDIP package and a 16‑lead SOIC package. It features fast serial data input, double data buffers, low integral and differential non‑linearity, and a gain error of up to ±2 LSB. The device operates from a single 5 V supply and includes ESD‑protected digital inputs.
The datasheet provides detailed specifications, electrical characteristics, absolute maximum ratings, pin configurations, typical performance graphs, and interface examples for several microprocessors (MC6800, 8085, 68000). Ordering information for temperature‑range and RoHS‑compliant variants is also included.
