MAX9234/MAX9236/MAX9238 3-channel LVDS deserializer
The MAX9234, MAX9236 and MAX9238 deserialize three LVDS serial‑data inputs into 21 single‑ended LVDS/LVTTL outputs. They feature hot‑swappable operation, on‑the‑fly frequency programming, and DC‑balanced coding that enables AC‑coupling. The devices are designed to work with Maxim serializers such as the MAX9209, MAX9211, MAX9213 and MAX9215.
Key specifications include operating frequency ranges of 8‑34 MHz (MAX9234/9236) or 16‑66 MHz (MAX9238), a 48‑lead TSSOP package, temperature range –40 °C to +85 °C, LVDS input ESD protection up to +25 kV (air‑gap) and +8 kV (contact), and a maximum data throughput of 1.386 Gbps. Output supply pins support 1.8 V to 5 V logic levels and the PWRDWN input is 5 V‑tolerant.
| Operating Frequency Range (MAX9234/9236) | 8 MHz to 34 MHz |
|---|---|
| Operating Frequency Range (MAX9238) | 16 MHz to 66 MHz |
| Maximum Data Throughput | 1.386 Gbps |
| Hot‑Swappable | Yes |
| LVDS Input ESD Rating | +25 kV air‑gap, +8 kV contact |
The MAX9234 has a rising‑edge output strobe.
LVDS inputs meet ISO 10605, with +25 kV air‑gap discharge and +8 kV contact discharge ratings.
Yes, the PWRDWN input is 5 V‑tolerant and outputs become high‑impedance when PWRDWN is low.
