About this manual

The MAX328 is a single‑ended 1‑of‑8 analog multiplexer, while the MAX329 is a differential 2‑of‑8 device. Both are monolithic CMOS parts designed for ultra‑low on‑ and off‑leakage (less than 1 pA at 25 °C) and can operate from single supplies of 10 V‑30 V or dual supplies of ±5 V‑±18 V. They are pin‑compatible with the DG508/DG509 series and can be used in fault‑tolerant circuits by adding a 40 kΩ resistor to each input.

Key specifications include a typical on‑resistance of 1.5 kΩ, off‑state leakage of about 0.3 pA, power dissipation up to 842 mW (PDIP), and operation over a temperature range from –40 °C to +125 °C depending on package. The devices are offered in multiple packages such as PDIP, Wide SO, CERDIP, and TQFN‑EP, and are suited for control systems, data‑logging, aircraft HUDs, and data‑acquisition applications.
