This document mainly introduces the function characteristics of IDT72421, IDT72201, IDT72211, IDT72221, IDT72231, IDT72241, IDT72251 SyncFIFOs, including organization structure, read and write clocks, dual-ported architecture, empty and full status signals, programmable empty and full bits, output enable, and packaging forms.
The SyncFIFO™ family provides high‑speed, low‑power FIFO memories with 9‑bit input and output ports. Devices are offered in eight depth options (64 to 8,192 words) and support independent read and write clocks, making them suitable for graphics, networking, and inter‑processor communication.
The document includes a functional block diagram, pin‑out tables, signal descriptions, electrical characteristics, timing parameters, and details on programmable almost‑full/empty flags and offset registers. Both commercial (0 °C to +70 °C) and industrial (‑40 °C to +85 °C) temperature ranges are supported, with a 5 V (+10 %) supply.
| Data width | 9‑bit |
|---|---|
| Read/Write cycle time | 10 ns |
| Supply voltage | 5 V ±10 % |
| Temperature range | Commercial: 0 °C to +70 °C; Industrial: ‑40 °C to +85 °C |
| Input leakage current | ‑1 µA (typ) |
| Output leakage current | ‑10 µA (typ) |
| Clock cycle frequency | 40 MHz |
The programmable Almost‑Empty and Almost‑Full flags default to Empty+7 and Full‑7, respectively.
The IDT72421 device stores 64 words before the Full flag goes low.
They operate from a 5 V supply with a ±10 % tolerance.
Commercial devices operate from 0 °C to +70 °C, while industrial versions cover ‑40 °C to +85 °C.
