AD9516-4 is a 14-channel clock generator with integrated 1.6 GHz VCO.
The AD9516-4 provides a multi‑output clock distribution function with sub‑picosecond jitter performance. It includes an on‑chip PLL and VCO that tunes from 1.45 GHz to 1.80 GHz, with an optional external VCO/VCXO up to 2.4 GHz. The device offers six LVPECL outputs (three pairs) up to 1.6 GHz, four LVDS outputs (two pairs) up to 800 MHz, and four CMOS outputs up to 250 MHz, each with programmable division and coarse/fine delay.
Typical applications include high‑speed networking line cards, clocking of high‑performance ADCs/DACs, wireless transceivers, and test instrumentation where low jitter and low phase noise are critical. The AD9516-4 operates from a single 3.3 V supply and is specified for an industrial temperature range of –40 °C to +85 °C.
