The MAX8725 Evaluation Board (EV kit) is a high-precision, high-efficiency multi-chemistry battery charger. The evaluation board can charge up to three to four series-connected lithium-ion batteries (Li+) at a current of up to 3A. The charge current and input power current are regulated by onboard potentiometers. The output voltage can be set to 4.2V x the number of cells in the battery pack in series. The number of cells in series is selected by a jumper. By installing two resistors, the output voltage can be adjusted between 4V and 4.4V x (number of cells in series). The evaluation board also provides an output for monitoring AC adapter current and can monitor whether an AC adapter is connected.
