ROHM BD6230/BD6231/BD6232/BD6235/BD6236/BD6237 H-bridge Driver Technical Note

BD6230, BD6231, BD6232, BD6235, BD6236, BD6237 are full bridge drivers for brush motor applications. Each IC can operate at a wide range of power-supply voltages (from 3V to 36V), supporting output currents of up to 2A. MOS transistors in the output stage allow for PWM signal control, while the integrated VREF voltage control function of previous models offers direct replacement of deprecated motor driver ICs.

About this manual

These H‑bridge drivers are full‑bridge drivers for brush‑motor applications. Each IC operates from 3 V to 36 V and can deliver up to 2 A of output current. Integrated MOS transistors enable PWM control, and a VREF pin provides duty‑cycle adjustment, allowing direct replacement of older motor‑driver ICs.

The devices include four protection circuits (OCP, OVP, TSD, UVLO) and are offered in several packages such as SOP8, SSOPB24, HRP7, HSOP25 and HSOPM28. Typical applications include audio‑visual equipment, PC peripherals, car audio and navigation systems, and other consumer electronics.
