Scotchfil™ Electrical Insulation Putty is an electrical grade putty in tape form. It has excellent electrical and aging properties, does not dry out, and applies cleanly without waste. It can be used to insulate low voltage connections, fill out irregularities in low voltage cable splices, smooth bus bar irregularities, etc.
Scotchfil™ Electrical Insulation Putty is an electrical‑grade putty supplied in tape form. It is UL Recognized for splice insulation at temperatures up to 176°F (80°C) and offers non‑corrosive, synthetic‑rubber construction with excellent electrical, aging and moisture‑seal properties.
The putty is used to insulate low‑voltage (≤600 V) connections, build up cable splices, smooth bus‑bar irregularities, create resin dams and moisture seals in high‑voltage splices. Application involves molding the putty with moderate finger pressure, then over‑wrapping with two half‑lapped layers of Scotch Super 33+ or Super 88 Vinyl Electrical Tape.
