The PSoC family consists of many Mixed-Signal Array with On-Chip Controller devices. All PSoC family devices are designed to replace traditional MCUs, system ICs, and the numerous discrete components that surround them. The PSoC CY8C24x94 devices are unique members of the PSoC family because it includes a full-featured, full-speed (12 Mbps) USB port. Configurable analog, digital, and interconnect circuitry enable a high level of integration in a host of industrial, consumer, and communication applications. This architecture allows the user to create customized peripheral configurations that match the requirements of each individual application. Additionally, a fast CPU, Flash program memory, SRAM data memory, and configurable IO are included in a range of convenient pinouts and packages. The PSoC architecture, as illustrated on the left, is comprised of four main areas: PSoC Core, Digital System, Analog System, and System Resources including a full-speed USB port. Configurable global busing allows all the device resources to be combined into a complete custom system. The PSoC CY8C24x94 devices can have up to seven IO ports that connect to the global digital and analog interconnects, providing access to 4 digital blocks and 6 analog blocks.
The CY8C24x94 family is part of Cypress' PSoC® Mixed‑Signal Array line. Each device integrates a Harvard‑architecture CPU, up to 16 KB Flash, 1 KB SRAM, optional EEPROM, a full‑speed USB 2.0 port, and configurable analog and digital blocks that can be combined to create custom peripherals. The architecture includes a powerful M8C core running up to 24 MHz, internal oscillators, and extensive GPIO flexibility, supporting up to 48 analog inputs and multiple PWM, UART, SPI, I²C, and timer functions.
Cypress provides a complete development ecosystem: the Windows‑based PSoC Designer IDE, in‑circuit emulators, and a library of pre‑built user modules. Documentation, application notes, training modules, and technical support are available through the Cypress website, helping designers move from concept to production quickly.
