The BB901 VHF variable capacitance diode is a type of electronic component produced by Philips Semiconductors. The characteristic of this component is its excellent linearity, compact package and suitability for applications such as electronic tuning, tunable coupling and VCO.
The BB901 is a VHF variable capacitance diode fabricated with planar technology and encapsulated in a small plastic SOT23 surface‑mount package. It provides excellent linearity and a capacitance of about 1 pF with a ratio of 13.5, making it suitable for electronic tuning in satellite tuners, tunable coupling and VCO applications.
Electrical characteristics include a maximum continuous reverse voltage of 28 V, forward current up to 20 mA, storage temperature range from –55 °C to +150 °C, and operating junction temperature from –55 °C to +125 °C. Typical reverse current is 10 nA at 28 V (25 °C) and 200 nA at 28 V (85 °C). The diode series resistance is about 3 Ω at 100 MHz, and the capacitance varies with reverse voltage as shown in the graphical data.
