The MAX4885 is a multiplexer from Texas Instruments that can be used with VGA signals in a 1:2 or 2:1 configuration. The device provides switching for RGB, DDC, and HSYNC/VSYNC signals. It also features a low-noise charge pump and level-shifting buffers. The MAX4885 is available in a 32-pin TQFN package and is specified over the extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
The MAX4885 integrates high‑bandwidth analog switches and level‑translating buffers to implement a complete 1:2 or 2:1 VGA multiplexer. It switches RGB, HSYNC, VSYNC and DDC signals, and includes a low‑noise charge pump that boosts the gate‑drive voltage for improved RGB switch performance.
The device operates from a single +5 V supply, offers a shutdown mode with 5 µA quiescent current, and is protected to ±8 kV HBM on all external pins. It is supplied in a 32‑pin 5 mm × 5 mm TQFN package and is intended for notebook computers, digital projectors, monitors, servers and KVM switches.
