The MIC5203 is an 80mA linear voltage regulator with very low dropout voltage (typically 20mV at light loads and 300mV at 80mA) and very low ground current (225µA at 20mA output), offering better than 3% initial accuracy with a logic-compatible enable input. The µCap™ regulator design is optimized to work with low- value, low-cost ceramic capacitors. The outputs typically require only 0.47µF of output capacitance for stability. Designed especially for hand-held, battery-powered devices, the MIC5203 can be controlled by a CMOS or TTL compatible logic signal. When disabled, power consumption drops nearly to zero. If on-off control is not required, the enable pin may be tied to the input for 3-terminal operation. The ground current of the MIC5203 increases only slightly in dropout, further prolonging battery life. Key MIC5203 features include current limiting, overtemperature shutdown, and protection against reversed battery. The MIC5203 is available in 2.8V, 3.0V, 3.3V, 3.6V, 3.8V, 4.0V, 4.5V, 4.75V, and 5.0V fixed voltages. Other voltages are available; contact Micrel for details.

The MC88915T Clock Driver utilizes phase-locked loop technology to lock its low skew outputs’ frequency and phase onto an input reference clock. It is designed to provide clock distribution for high-performance PCs and workstations. The PLL allows the high current, low skew outputs to lock onto a single clock input and distribute it with essentially zero delay to multiple components on a board. The PLL also allows the MC88915T to multiply a low-frequency input clock and distribute it locally at a higher (2X) system frequency. Multiple 88915s can lock onto a single reference clock, which is ideal for applications when a central system clock must be distributed synchronously to multiple boards.

This manual introduces the features and characteristics of 8-BIT SINGLE-CHIP MICROCONTROLLERS MC80F0424/0432/0448 MC80C0424/0432/0448, including description, features, development tools, ordering information, etc.

The MC74AC521/74ACT521 is an expandable 8-bit comparator. It compares two words of up to eight bits each and provides a LOW output when the two words match bit for bit. The expansion input IA=B also serves as an active LOW enable input.

The MC10H/100H641 is a single supply, low skew translating 1:9 clock driver. Devices in the Motorola H600 translator series utilize the 28-lead PLCC for optimal power pinning, signal flow through and electrical performance. The device features a 24mA TTL output stage, with AC performance specified into a 50pF load capacitance. A latch is provided on-chip. When LEN is LOW (or left open, in which case it is pulled LOW by the internal pulldown) the latch is transparent. A HIGH on the enable pin (EN) forces all outputs LOW. Both the LEN and EN pins are positive ECL inputs. The VBB output is provided in case the user wants to drive the device with a single-ended input. For single-ended use the VBB should be connected to the D input and bypassed with a 0.01µF capacitor. The 10H version of the H641 is compatible with positive MECL 10H logic levels. The 100H version is compatible with positive 100K levels.

The MAX9705 is a 3rd-generation, ultra-low EMI, mono, Class D audio power amplifier that provides Class AB performance with Class D efficiency. It delivers 2.3W into a 4Ω load and offers efficiencies above 85%. The active emissions limiting (AEL) circuitry reduces EMI by controlling the output FET gate transitions under all possible transient output-voltage conditions. The zero dead time (ZDT) technology allows the output FETs to switch simultaneously without cross-conduction, maintaining efficiency and THD+N performance. The patented spread-spectrum modulation scheme eliminates the need for output filtering found in traditional Class D devices. These design concepts reduce component count and extend battery life. The MAX9705 offers two modulation schemes: fixed-frequency (FFM) mode and spread-spectrum (SSM) mode, which further reduces EMI-radiated emissions due to the modulation frequency. The MAX9705 oscillator can be synchronized to an external clock through the SYNC input, allowing the switching frequency to be externally defined. The SYNC input also enables cascading and frequency locking of multiple MAX9705s, minimizing interference due to clock intermodulation. The device utilizes a fully differential architecture, a full-bridged output, and comprehensive...

The MAX4194 is a variable-gain precision instrumentation amplifier that combines Rail-to-Rail® single-supply operation, outstanding precision specifications, and a high gain bandwidth. This amplifier is also offered in three fixed-gain versions: the MAX4195 (G = +1V/V), the MAX4196 (G = +10V/V), and the MAX4197 (G = +100V/V). The fixed-gain instrumentation amplifiers feature a shutdown function that reduces the quiescent current to 8µA. A traditional three operational amplifier configuration is used to achieve maximum DC precision. The MAX4194–MAX4197 have rail-to-rail outputs and inputs that can swing to within 200mV of the negative rail and to within 1.1V of the positive rail. All parts draw only 93µA and operate from a single +2.7V to +7.5V supply or from dual ±1.35V to ±3.75V supplies. These amplifiers are offered in 8-pin SO packages and are specified for the extended temperature range (-40°C to +85°C). See the MAX4198/MAX4199 data sheet for single-supply, precision differential amplifiers.

The MAX394 is a precision, low-voltage, quad, single-pole/double-throw (SPDT) analog switch. The four independent switches operate with bipolar supplies ranging from ±2.7V to ±8V, or with a single supply of +2.7V to +15V. The MAX394 offers low on-resistance (less than 35Ω), guaranteed to match within 2Ω between channels and to remain flat over the analog signal range (∆4Ω max). It also offers break-before-make switching (10ns typical), with turn-off times less than 75ns and turn-on times less than 130ns. The MAX394 is ideal for portable operation since quiescent current runs less than 1µA with all inputs high or low. This monolithic, quad switch is fabricated with Maxim’s low voltage silicon-gate process. Design improvements guarantee extremely low charge injection (10pC), low power consumption (10µW), and electrostatic discharge (ESD) greater than 2000V. Logic inputs are TTL and CMOS compatible and guaranteed over a +0.8V to +2.4V range for supply voltages up to +8V. When supplies exceed +8V, the inputs are typically +0.8V to +4V. Logic inputs and switched analog signals can range anywhere between the supply voltages without damage.
