Presents API specifications of the PWM driver in ST10 electric motor control library
STMicroelectronics provides a library of electric motor control functions included in the ST10 Electric Motor Control Library (EMCL). This document details the set of API functions used to manage PWM signals for driving a 3-phase electric motor with the desired voltage via an inverter.
The note explains how to use and configure ST10 peripherals to produce PWM signals with adjustable pulse width at the beginning of each new PWM period. It covers the PWM overview, including the inverter structure and output waveforms, and provides a specification for the available API functions such as PWM_Init, PWM_start, and PWM_Register.
| Microcontroller | ST10 |
|---|---|
| Motor Type | 3-phase electric motor |
| PWM Mode | Center Aligned Mode |
| PWM Pin Channel 0 | P7.0 |
| PWM Pin Channel 1 | P7.1 |
| PWM Pin Channel 2 | P7.2 |
| XPWM Pin Channel 0 | P8.0 |
| XPWM Pin Channel 1 | P8.1 |
| XPWM Pin Channel 2 | P8.2 |
It initializes the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Module and the XPWM Module, selecting three channels for each module in Center Aligned Mode with default values.
They are configured in Center Aligned Mode with default values for semi period and pulse width, and interrupts are enabled from PWM channel 0.
It is used to change the pulse width of the output signals simultaneously at every PWM period.
