About this manual

The RN5RF Series are CMOS-based Low Dropout (LDO) regulators designed to be used with an external PNP transistor. This configuration allows the creation of a regulator ranging from several tens of mA to several hundreds of mA current capacity. The series supports input voltages up to 10V and offers fixed output voltage options between 1.2V and 6.0V.

Frequently asked questions

What external component is required for the RN5RF Series?

The series requires an external PNP transistor with a low saturation type and hfe of approximately 100 to 300.

What is the typical ripple rejection at 1kHz for Vout >= 1.6V?

The typical ripple rejection is 60dB when f=1kHz and Vout >= 1.6V.

What capacitor type is recommended for the typical application circuit?

The typical application recommends using Tantalum capacitors of 10uF for C1 and C2.
