About this manual

The BQ2003 is a monolithic CMOS device designed to provide comprehensive fast charge control functions along with high-speed switching power control circuitry. It supports the charging and conditioning of one or more cells in nickel cadmium or nickel-metal hydride batteries, offering features such as hysteretic PWM switch-mode current regulation or gated control of an external regulator.

The device includes safety mechanisms for fast-charge termination based on temperature rise rate (∆T/∆t), negative delta voltage (- ∆V), maximum voltage, maximum temperature, and maximum time. It also provides direct LED outputs to display battery and charge status and supports an optional top-off charge phase.
