About this manual

The bq2050 is an integrated circuit designed to maintain an accurate record of available battery capacity in lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. It monitors voltage drops across a sense resistor and compensates for temperature and charge/discharge rates to provide precise capacity information.

The device supports various output methods, including direct drive of LEDs via a five-segment display or single-wire serial communication with an external processor. Internal registers track available capacity, temperature, energy, battery status, and allow for programming settings.
