Analysis of phenolic antioxidants and erucamide slip additives in polypropylene formulations using Agilent 1120 Compact LC and Agilent Method Translator to obtain ASTM- equivalent methods
This document details a method for separating and detecting phenolic antioxidants, such as vitamin E, and erucamide slip additives in polypropylene formulations. The method utilizes an Agilent 1120 Compact LC with UV/VIS detection, following the guidelines of ASTM Method D6042-09. Agilent ZORBAX Eclipse Plus columns are employed for the separation process.
The study evaluates the system's ability to execute the ASTM method for quantitation, demonstrating linearity of standards and discussing the effects of injection volume on peak shape and sensitivity. Tinuvin P is used as an internal standard, and samples are prepared via ultrasonic bath extraction.
