The document describes the features and characteristics of the H7815_E series of three-terminal positive regulators. These regulators can provide local on-card regulation, eliminating the distribution problems associated with single point regulation. Each regulator includes internal current limiting, thermal shutdown, and safe operating area protection, making it essentially indestructible. With adequate heat sinking, they can deliver over 1A of output current. Although primarily designed as fixed voltage regulators, these devices can be used with external components to obtain adjustable voltages and currents.
